Genealogy Fan Chart

During today's Relief Society Lesson a website was mentioned that you can see your family history fan.  The idea was then to use the fan to find the places to start working on researching your family history.  If you do the fan you will most likely find sections of the fan without names (blank sections), this is where you work on family research.

You do have to log-in to the site by using your family search account login.  This is so that they can access your family history information to create the fan.

When I did this it stated that it was a one-time access.  I have not researched and read up on this website so I personally do not have any information to pass on to you about their privacy policy & such.  You will need to do that research and decide for yourself if this is a website that you want to give permission to access your family search account or not.

I am just passing on the website since so many sisters seemed interested in it.

May we all feel the desire to continue the searching out of ancestors & enjoy the blessings that come from our labors.  I know I enjoy learning about my ancestors and sharing the spirit of family history in my own family relations as I share my research.

of the Relief Society program.

There are sisters in our lives, who have inspired us to become who we are, who have helped mold us and who we have looked up to.   For the Relief Society Birthday Dinner we would like to fill the  room with remembrances of the influential women in your lives.

If you would like to decorate a table for the centerpieces that evening

please let Melanie or Shelly know (elkridge2ndrs@gmail.com).The doors will be open at 5:30 so you can come decorate.

Sisters, it is a new year with new and exciting things to come. Don't forget to check for updates in groups and activities.

This year we are focusing on all of our wonderful groups. Remember group leaders to get your information and dates in to Melanie Bott, melaniebott@gmail.com or Shelly Strand, shelly.strand@gmail.com so they can get them updated on the blog.

This year we will be focusing on the quarterly Relief Society meetings. They will be bigger and better!

Christmas Catch Up!

Don't forget about our Christmas Craft Catch up tomorrow, Thursday the 8th at 6:30pm. Come and catch up on your Christmas crafts from November, other crafts you are working on or to wrap gifts.

A Successful Christmas Crafting Day

We had a wonderful turn-out on Saturday. Many came to make the Christmas crafts, enjoy breakfast or just to mingle. It was a fun morning. A great big THANK YOU goes out to all of the sisters who participated. Thank you to the sisters who stayed a little longer to clean up. We appreciate all of the wonderful sisters in our ward who give selflessly everyday! We love you all and are happy to serve you as well.
